  • garlic add
  • 1/4 C butter (1/2 stick)
  • 1/2 T olive oil
  • 1/2 onion thinly sliced
  • 1 slice Parma ham chopped (Caranghan)
  • 1/2 lb asparagus cut into slivers
  • 1/2 C water
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube
  • 1/2 lb thin spaghetti or vermicelli
  • 1/2 C half & half
  • 1/4 C Parmesan cheese
  • freshly ground pepper

Instructions
 

  • Heat butter and oil in a 1-quart saucepan.
  • Add onion and sauté until golden.
  • Add ham and sauté briefly.
  • Add asparagus, water, and bouillon cube, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • While the mixture simmers, boil the spaghetti for 5-6 minutes and drain well.
  • Add the asparagus mixture and 1/2 cup half and half to the saucepan. Cook over low heat until warmed through.
  • Toss the sauce with the boiled spaghetti. Top with Parmesan cheese and pepper.
