Spaghetti & Asparagus
A quick and easy pasta dish featuring thin spaghetti or vermicelli mixed with a light sauce of ham, asparagus, butter, and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients
- garlic add
- 1/4 C butter (1/2 stick)
- 1/2 T olive oil
- 1/2 onion thinly sliced
- 1 slice Parma ham chopped (Caranghan)
- 1/2 lb asparagus cut into slivers
- 1/2 C water
- 1 chicken bouillon cube
- 1/2 lb thin spaghetti or vermicelli
- 1/2 C half & half
- 1/4 C Parmesan cheese
- freshly ground pepper
Get Recipe Ingredients
Heat butter and oil in a 1-quart saucepan.
Add onion and sauté until golden.
Add ham and sauté briefly.
Add asparagus, water, and bouillon cube, and simmer for 15 minutes.
While the mixture simmers, boil the spaghetti for 5-6 minutes and drain well.
Add the asparagus mixture and 1/2 cup half and half to the saucepan. Cook over low heat until warmed through.
Toss the sauce with the boiled spaghetti. Top with Parmesan cheese and pepper.
