Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 C flour Sift together
  • 1/2 tsp salt Sift together

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 C butter Softened, Creamed
  • 1 1/4 C powdered sugar Creamed
  • 2 egg yolks or 1 whole egg Blend in
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract Blend in
  • 1 tsp vanilla Blend in

Optional Decorations

  • a few drops food coloring
  • colored sugar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Sift together the flour and salt.
  • Cream the softened butter and powdered sugar together.
  • Blend in the egg yolks (or whole egg), almond extract, and vanilla.
  • Add the dry ingredients (flour and salt mixture) gradually to the creamed mixture.
  • Press small amounts of dough into the cookie press.
  • Bake at 400°F for 6 to 8 minutes.
  • Optionally, add a few drops of food coloring and/or colored sugar before baking.
