
Fruit Custard Tart

Ingredients
Crust
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
Filling
- 2 cups plums pitted, or other fruit
- 1 egg
- 1 cup cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
For the Crust
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add the rest of the ingredients.
- Combine and press into a 11 inch tart pan, reserving 1/3 cup. Bake until done, about 25 minutes.
For the filling
- Split the plums in half and arrange on the crust skin side up.
- Sprinkle remaining crumbs on top of the plums.
- Bake for 15 min.
- Beat egg and cream, remove tart from oven and pour cream mixture over the top.
- Combine custard mixture with fruit and pour into pre-baked crust. Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes.
Notes
Use plums or other fruit. Test for doneness.
